Inside Out 2 will cross the $500 million mark this weekend at the worldwide box office after a record-breaking first week.

But if you haven't been one of those (many) people to go and see the Pixar sequel at the cinema, you might be wondering whether it's available to watch right now on Disney+ like every other Pixar movie.

Unlike Soul and Luca though, which debuted exclusively on the streaming service, Inside Out 2 is receiving an exclusive cinema release, so that's the only way to see the sequel right now.

We know that the sequel will eventually be able to stream on Disney+, but when exactly? Here's how to watch Inside Out 2 right now, and when we can expect it to be released on Disney+.

As mentioned above, Inside Out 2 is not yet available to watch on Disney+ as it's received an exclusive theatrical release.

The good news is that it's out now so if you really can't wait to see the Pixar sequel, you can head to your favourite cinema to check it out.

The bad news is if you're waiting for its streaming debut, you'll be waiting a while – and it's nothing to do with how well it's been performing at the box office.

Before its release on June 14, Pixar boss Pete Docter confirmed that Inside Out 2 will receive a 100-day theatrical window (via Time).

It means that before that time is up, the sequel won't be available to watch on Disney+ whether it continues its record-breaking box-office run or not.

The earliest Inside Out 2 will arrive on Disney+ is in late September. Given the streaming service favours a Wednesday debut for new movies, the first possible Disney+ release for Inside Out 2 is Wednesday, September 25.

That's not a guaranteed date as Disney hasn't confirmed anything right now, but it's just the first possible release date for the sequel.

Like Elemental, it's likely that Inside Out 2 will be made available to buy or rent at home before that date. Elemental was released on digital platforms around two months after its release and a month ahead of its streaming debut.

A similar timeline puts Inside Out 2's digital release around mid-August, perhaps Monday, August 19. Again though, this has yet to be confirmed by Disney.

For now, if you want a Pixar fix, you can rewatch Inside Out on Disney+, alongside every other Pixar movie and short films, including Inside Out short movie Riley's First Date.

There's not currently a Disney+ free trial, but there are ways to get a set number of months free.
