Top 39 things to do and attractions in Glen Arbor (2024)

What a lovely way to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee! We also enjoyed a brioche croissant (sweeter and with a hint of lemon maybe? that was a welcome surprise) and a cinnamon pop-tart that was delicious. I would have loved the option to warm them up.The atmosphere is impeccable- it looks straight out of a magazine. They did a wonderful job incorporating the history of the mill.Very much looking forward to returning for lunch!

We absolutely love the Mill in Glen Arbor. Its quaint and cozy setting on the river makes it a great spot to sit and grab a coffee or lunch. You can tell all the food is made from scratch, is high quality, and simply delicious! The extra friendly service and serene setting makes it one of our favorite spots up north. The entire place is rich with character, and the interior design throughout is so well-done. We’d highly recommend visiting the Mill!

We had the most amazing stay at The Mill! The rooms are beautifully designed and cozy, the host is so kind and helpful, and the coffee and treats just steps away can't be beat. It's the perfect place to stay for a relaxing getaway with lots of hikes, beaches, and small towns nearby. We will be back!

This isn’t just Supper, it’s an experience. The food was not only delicious but the presentation was beautiful. They have many options for all food lovers with different size plates to make it easy for family style. Our server was incredible! She helped explain how the menu worked, and she knew everything about all the dishes to choose from. The atmosphere is lovely, sitting right next to the river, enjoying a cozy meal with your family and friends. Definitely going back!

Have been coming to GA for over a decade. This is exactly what I have been looking for in a morning coffee place. Beautiful peaceful view of the Crystal River, and lattes that didn’t taste burnt or bitter! I had a caramel latte, and a croissant. The whole beans they had for sale appeared to be roasted out of state. Would be amazing to have that done locally if possible. And If the croissant would have been warmed, that would be primo! Can’t wait to return and try some other menu items!

Really really great concept. Authentic setting in this renovated old mill. Deliciously fresh and surprising food. Great service and friendly staff. The outdoor terrace is a plus with the view over crystal river. The indoor space offers a totally different setting it's cozy, intimate and comfortable for relaxing with a book or a friend.

Great little spot on a beautiful little river. Stopped here to grab coffee and breakfast after staying at the Riverside Inn. The staff was very friendly and talked through the menu with us. The coffee was great and the baguette sandwich and hand pies were tasty. The seating area is cozy and a place I wish I could sit for hours hanging out with friends, reading, or even working.Looking forward to returning and hopefully checking out the rental spaces in the future!

While our experience is limited to the cafe - we have plans to stay at the inn next year - I cannot stress how astounding the quality of the food is. The bread is the best in town, and with the simple but thoughtful sandwiches on offer we went back there three times in a week to sample as much of the menu as we could. We would move here just to be able to eat this food daily.

I have been going up to Glen Arbor for 60 years. When I was 5 or 6, my dad walked me around the mill. I am so happy to see the building rehabilitation. Absolutely stunning inside without taking away from what the mill originally looked like. The use of space is comfortable and classy. Adding the outdoor space along the Crystal River, smart, functional and enjoyable. Thank you for the preservation. Nancy

Beautifully curated rooms - the location on the river is so quiet and peaceful. We didn’t want for anything, (thanks for stocking beverages in the fridge!) and the complimentary morning pastries were delicious. The restoration of the Mill is impressive. Look forward to staying again with more time to kayak the river.

My wife & I needed a little weekend getaway & The Mill was perfect! We were greeted by Corey upon our arrival. He met us in the parking lot, told us the ins & outs of the place & even helped with our bags. Top notch service for sure. The room was comfortable, quiet & relaxing. The bed, sheets & linens were Amazing. Really enjoyed the books in the room. Learning about the surrounding area & history puts you back in time a bit.The Mill itself had great coffee, pastries & a vibe to match. No detail is overlooked. We’ll definitely be back. This will be a Glen Arbor establishment for years & years to come.

My husband and I had the most amazing stay at The Mill after Christmas! We stayed in the Emmer, which was absolutely stunning and spacious. We loved waking up and walking just a few steps to get wonderful pastries and coffee at the gorgeous cafe. The location, atmosphere, and hospitality are incredible! Everyone who works here is a gem. We can't wait to stay again, everything about The Mill is perfection.

We stopped by for lunch at the Cafe, and it was every bit worthwhile. The food was exquisite with the Chili Broccolini being a star as well as the salad and Turkey sandwich all were amazing. And to just sit with the views and serenity from the deck overlooking the Crystal River was phenomenal. The dinner area looks awesome but we didn’t get to enjoy that due to opening times for our travels, but can’t wait to get back to enjoy it all. It will be a place to eat for anyone traveling to or living near Glen Arbor.

The property is on the most magical little wedge of natural wooded land right along the Crystal River. It is peaceful, relaxing, and inspiring. The rooms are curated with endless little surprises and touches to find throughout your stay. Every surface is designed with intention and beauty. And the beds... ridiculous. The only bed (maybe) more comfortable is the Ritz-Carlton bed, but only maybe.Heading over into the old mill is another special treat. The cafe in the morning and afternoon is friendly, and delicious. Where else do you want to enjoy your morning coffee besides on the deck, naturing watching with that crisp northern MI breeze? And Supper at The Mill was out of this world. We can't wait for our next trip to Glen Arbor. Our new spot is The Mill, hands down!

The location is lovely. The staff, the concept, the execution, and the food is all 1 star. The staff is rude, pretentious and all with no substantiation of a great experience. We went twice thinking we were the problem. We took some pals on the second trip and they too were extremely put off by the staff. Bizarre that someone could own a business and be so bad with people. Best case scenario is they sell the lovely building to someone with more vision, better taste and customer service skills

Coffee is always delicious. When we visit Glen Arbor we go every single morning they are open. Everyone must try their hand pies they are awesome. We tried their Brunch for the first time and it was amazing. If you’re looking for cheap coffee this is not the place but it is worth it. What a great addition to the area. We can’t wait for the restaurant to open.

I have had a favorite local baker for years. After tasting the sourdough bread from The Mills, they have officially won my heart! It is made fresh daily with the perfect amount of golden crust crunch and soft chewy inside. Perfect for toast, sandwiches or just a healthy snack.Their pastries are lovely too! I got the dark chocolate sea salt cookie and throughly enjoyed every bite. From the moment you walked into the café, you sent a collective design and aesthetic that is welcoming and relaxing. The staff greeted us with warm smiles. The decor and lounge area are all beautifully curated to show off the original woodwork with a modern twist. If you as local or passing through the area, I highly recommend stopping by for a coffee of lunch. There is a brand new restaurant that opened too! This place is a 10/10

Unreal. This gem is one of the best new spots in Northern Michigan. We stayed at the Mill House after attending the Supper Club and the rooms were beautiful and cozy. The whole place is the perfect combination of old/historical mixed with modern comforts. The cafe and food is spectacular as well. This is now our favorite spot in the peninsula.

We had an amazing stay at The Mill! We enjoyed the walks over to the cafe in the morning and the charming home that fit our extended family gathering of 8. It was the perfect winter getaway. The hosts were able to refer us to some nearby hikes and great options for intimate dining! Our meals at the Mill were also delicious! The cafe miels are a must and you really can't go wrong with any of their food its all so good for the soul. Thank you for the lovely stay!

I 100% agree with the review that what you’re sold on social media is not at all what you get in person. Nowhere near as charming in person, actually a little creepy. There’s no room for an entrance so you walk right into a table with people eating. Very awkward. The staff was unfriendly, seemly only nice to local friends who they spend tons of time chatting it up while completely ignoring others. Everything was overpriced and the building was small with a half hearted attempt at showcasing the Mill’s history. Felt nothing like the big open space it looks like in the pictures.

We had a fantastic stay at The Mill! We were warmly welcomed, and our room was perfect, with a comfortable bed, roomy bathroom, and great amenities. (Loved the room decor details that harkened back to the old mill's former usage.) Maybe the best part of The Mill is the attached cafe and lodge-like lounge; we really enjoyed the co*cktails, coffees, pastries and brunch in this cozy, warm space.
