Hmmm so what would be a safer bet the BB order or ordering one full price from HP with price adjustment pending? If they don't do a price adjustment I can cancel/be refunded right? I am not biting for 500 bucks.

my CC has $3000 credit left so thats not the problem. May be their connection to the CC verification service is under stress due to the volume of sales going through.
So seems safe to order at full price and hope to get the refund on Monday

We should post that the price will be adjusted if you call in on Monday, and no more stock in any stores.
Yes, it shows as $399/499 but HP has released a press statement that they will drop the price to $99/149. If they do charge you the normal price, it would be bait and switch and that is illegal.

I've had credit cards get declined during boxing day because of volume, so I wouldn't doubt that it's a similar scenario for HP.

I've got buyer's remorse now. I've got two 32GB ordered from HP.ca and one 32GB from bestbuy.ca I intend to refund the bestbuy one in-store as soon as I get it, and hopefully can still cancel the HP ones on Monday even with price adjustment. If cannot be cancelled, then I'm going to have to sell it locally to someone. Only way I'd keep this tablet is if I got my hands on the 16GB one. I can't justify paying 50% more for just extra 16GB size.

They would probably do a mass update on price and have some automated message letting ppl know its fixed and to wait 4-6 weeks to see the charge back to CC
Well i know lot of us won't sleep easy until charge is placed back on the card.

huge bait and switch... the first link said 149, once on cart, it shows 499. HP knows better not to do this, we will just all have to calm ourselves and wait

So after reading these posts, didn't think there was too much of a chance, but on the way home from the beach I decided to pop by a Best Buy in the GVRD. Surprise, they had 12 left. I picked up two, seems like they just found a bunch in the back. I just left about 10 minutes ago, there should be still 10 left.
